A forestry and agriculture company headquartered in Fuchu City, we supported the creation of a corporate website and an online store for direct sales of processed products, their own brand of agricultural products (asparagus). In the forestry business, the company's main business was logging trees for electric power companies, but we aimed to increase sales by strengthening sales promotions and systems so that the company could be more locally oriented and receive requests from individual customers. We also provided support to help increase sales in agriculture, which was a new business for the company.

We were told that they wanted to create a new website to acquire new customers (individuals) in the forestry business, and that they wanted to sell the asparagus they had been growing in their new farming business through EC.

Need for promotion other than on the web

The request was to obtain sales based on the web, but considering our target, we thought that the web alone would not be effective. What we wanted to increase in the forestry business were individual customers who needed to select trees for their private homes. Since the generation was expected to be elderly, paper-based sales promotion as well as WEB was essential. In addition, regarding vegetable sales, we needed to think of another development because we knew the difficulty of selling fresh food through EC and the difficulty of differentiating ourselves from other companies because we had been in the EC industry.

Total support for paper, web, and product development

Flyers were produced and distributed to the older generation who have a real need for tree maintenance, and advertisements were placed in local media. And for the newly created website, we created a "case study of logging" page that describes before and after photos of logging taken by on-site staff as the core of the website, and determined rules for posting with SEO (search engine optimization) design in mind to ensure that the site is caught by search engines. EC site For the e-commerce site, we proposed "selling processed vegetable products" that would differentiate the company from others, and after market research, we proposed the development of "pickles" using asparagus, which the company is proud of as a product. In order to increase awareness of their products, we supported them to place their products in local quality stores and to sell directly at events such as marche.

Strengthening BtoB to BtoC services

Originally, most of the work was for BtoB, but we were able to strengthen our services to individuals, which was our objective, and the awareness of the on-site staff gradually changed. The "Logging Case Studies" section on the site was updated by the in-house staff with the operation rules we proposed, and as a result, they are now able to update 100% by themselves.

Increased inquiries from individual customers

The number of new customers increased as we promoted the forestry services, which is one of your strengths, to individuals. We received more new inquiries through paper (flyers, ads, etc.) → phone calls, and web → phone calls, etc. As for e-commerce, we were able to increase awareness of our farm through pickleweed.

Expect to expand the number of EC products

The forestry business is operating on its own and bringing in new customers, but the next step for EC is to increase the number of its own products.
